What You Need to Know to Get Started:
The task of finding a speaker and/or artists for your next event can be a daunting thought.

1. Start with your goals.
Before you even begin looking determine what you're trying to get out of the event. What do you want the audience to walk away thinking, feeling, and ready to do?

2. Talk to Your Colleagues.
Find out what they'd like to see in an artists or speaker -- what kind of topic, style, impact are they looking for?

3. Determine if you will allow for the Artists to take a Donation or if you will donate direct.
Think about it -- the musical and intellectual content of your event is probably the most important single element in its success or failure. And your keynote speaker and artists are a huge part of that content. We ask that the event allow our artist to share the EV vision and either take a donation or ask the event to consider a direct donation to the Artist through EV.

4. When you find the speaker you want, book them for the event.
Don't fall into the paralysis by analysis pitfall. You'll likely be able to find an endless supply of possible artist for your event. But at some point you'll have to decide. Another three weeks of looking might turn up a better choice. On the other hand, if you delay too long you may lose the artists you're most interested in.

5. Talk to the speaker/artists before the event.
We make it a policy for the speaker/artists and you to talk before the event. This discussion - even if it's only for a few minutes - can make a huge difference to the outcome by ensuring that both parties have a common understanding of the goals of the event and the make-up of the audience.
