Coined by Empty Vessel, Impact Music is the new category of music of various genres that focus beyond the studio, the star egos, and the sold out concert dreams of emerging and established indie artists. Pioneering this category were, and in many cases still are, initiatives like Band-Aid, Farm-Aid and the We are the world - song which all were key in the dawning of Impact Music and some may say it was even the political music of the 60’s that started it all.

As we all know, most mainstream artist today adopt a “cause”. Whether it is global warming, building schools in Africa, or signing on with compassion international, their popularity and influences add a much-needed charge to these causes giving more exposure to the need. Look at Bono, who has taking the position that he has a true “calling” that goes far beyond U2 and the music.

In the current world of shake and bake artists and manufactured groups, who have a “hit” and then fade away into obscurity, there is emerging a ground swell of interest for artists and bands who have an appeal for being true to themselves, their lyrics and the world around them.
